Optimising Hybrid Battery Performance
Summary
A major construction company operating from a three-cabin site set up, powered by a 30kVa Solar Hybrid Unit, was seeking to reduce power consumption and maximise battery performance.
What was done?
The erica site distribution board was connected from the solar hybrid unit to each cabin.
The site working hours were programmed into the erica board, which turned off power where not required in the drying rooms, offices & canteen.
What difference did this make?
The reduction in power wastage led to a 68% increase in the number of hours the site operated on the battery (68 hours per week to 114 hours).
